Protecting Your Products in Transit
To your customers, you are your shipment. Given the rigors found in today's small package shipping environment, your products may end up in pieces during transit, damaging your reputation in the process. This can be a nagging problem, but it's more than just damaged goods when you consider the associated costs for replacing products, refilling, repacking and reshipping an order, customer dissatisfaction and likely lost future sales.
When it comes to properly packaging your shipments, really, there are no second chances. Shouldn't you be confident in the protection your products receive in transit? With the unique protective qualities of Geämi,
you can be.Geämi Sustainable Protective Packaging material is designed to protect your products in three ways:
Deflecting Shock
An easy way to understand why Geämi Sustainable Protective Packaging effectively deflects shock, is to examine a common packaging device used by the furniture industry - the corner cap. Shock is deflected away from items wrapped in Geämi much the same way as a corner cap with a chamfered edge would deflect the shock away from the corner of an item of furniture. Shock passes through the corner of the corrugated carton and is met with a 45º angled surface. The shock travels along the angle away from the corner of the item. Geämi is composed of hundreds of angled cells, each directing shock away from wrapped items in a similar manner.
Preventing Migration
During shipping, items are often prone to migrate towards the inside walls of a box where they become exposed to the greatest risk of damage due to outside impact. The challenge is to prevent this type of product migration without having to add an excesive amount of void fill to increase the insulation between items and the inside walls of the carton or to compensate for materials settling or shifting during transit. Geämi's web of angled cells create a unique interlocking feature that better secures and suspends items in the shipping box. Additionally, single items or groupings of smaller items will stay securly within a Geämi bundle without having to use tape. This feature "locks" fragile items within the Geämi protective packaging, preventing the potential for damage as a result of items becoming loose in the shipping box. Cushioning ![]() Geämi's unique two-part paper system features a layer of tissue paper that is interleaved with the web of honeycombed paper. This insures optimum loft and creates an effective, reslilient cushioning material. Also, the tissue interleaf provides additional surface protection for your most fragile items.
