Geämi Sheds Light on Damage Problem
For this California-based manufacturer of unique hand-blown glass oil lamps, the dedicated craftsmanshp that went into creating each and every lamp was meaningless if in the end, their lamps arrived damaged to their customers. So, the company found itself on a seemingly never-ending quest to find a protective packaging product that would reduce breakage during shipping. Traditional packaging materials, such as peanuts and bubble, had fallen short of delivering the protection needed and moreover began to irk some ot the company's more significant and environmentally conscious customers.Additionally, the company's parcel delivery service did not allow them to file claims for damages when product values were less than $100.00 per shipment. Because of this, the company was forced to absorb damage losses that exceeded $1000.00 per month. Their challenge was clear: Find a protective packaging material that would greatly reduce damage losses and was also environmentally friendly. 
When expanded, Geämi paper forms a web of angled cells that effectively deflects shock away from items wrappped in it.
