Geämi Plays a Key Role

What you should know about plastic and packaging:

Plastic is made from oil, a non-renewable resource.
8% of oil is converted into plastic.
Over 50% of all packaging is made of plastic.
In 2005, of the 13.7 tons of plastic packaging disposed of in municpal solid waste sites, only 9.4% was actually recovered.
Oil-based plastic packaging is not compostable.
